CSK vs SRH Match Summary: It was a do or die match for Sunrisers Hyderabad to reach the playoffs, but that wasn’t the case as Chennai Super Kings won the match by 6 wickets. So here is the summary of how things started, Chennai Super Kings won the toss and opted to bowl first.
Sunrisers Hyderabad opened the innings and tasted the first blood in the form of Jonny Bairstow, he was dismissed at the golden duck. But since then both David Warner and Manish Pandey as both of them took the sporadically acclaimed bowling to the whiskers and took full advantage of the bowling. David Warner registered yet another fifty in the match and scored 57 of just 45 balls that included 3 fours and 2 sixes.
On the other hand, Manish Pandey too registered the famous fifty and remained not out till the end. Vijay Shankar too handled the long handle and scored quick 26 of just 20 balls that included 2 boundaries and a six.
In the end, Manish Pandey remained at 83, with the help of 7 fours and 3 sixes somehow taking the innings total to 175/3 in 20 overs.
Chennai Super Kings too didn’t had the greatest openings as they lost Faf Du Plessis early at just 1, but again just like SRH CSK too consolidated after 1st wicket fall as both Shane Watson and Suresh Raina tried to reach the total as soon as possible.
Where Shane Watson was never looking no opportunity to knock big out of the park, Raina too opened the run floodgates, but after the majestic innings of 38 of just 24 balls, he was dismissed to Rashid Khan. His innings included 6 fours and 1 six. But Shane Watson fought till the end and was about to reach the glittering hundred, unfortunately, was dismissed at 96 of 53 balls with the help of 9 fours and 6 sixes.
In the end, Kedhar Jadhav completed the formalities and CSK won the match by 6 wickets with 1 ball to spare.
Shane Watson was declared the man of the match for his match winning 96 in the match.
